Discover Mini Volleyball - Spikezone

Spikezone, an initiative of Australian Volleyball
Federation, is supported by State Volleyball NSW, Department of Sport and Recreation and sponsored by Vodafone, is designed
to increase the numbers of primary school children between the age of 8 and 12 playing
volleyball in Australia.
Spikezone allows children
to play a mini version of volleyball tailored to their needs,
skills and abilities. The game features simplified rules,
softer and lighter volleyballs, smaller courts (badminton courts) and lower
nets to give primary school children a better chance to enjoy the
game.
Spikezone features three elements:
- in-school clinics delivered by qualified coaches aimed
at improving the skills of players;
- inter-school clinics and gala days;
- 10 week participation programs which provide
an opportunity for kids to play the game on a regular basis.
